Paramedic Clinical Practice Guidelines

Ambulance Tasmania's Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) for Paramedics and Intensive Care Paramedics have recently undergone a major revision to ensure contemporary, evidence-based practice in an easy to read format.

This revised format incorporates a flow chart style, colour coding for individual mangement steps, and distinct separation of Paramedic and Intensive Care Paramedic interventions. It was developed by the Ambulance Victoria (AV) CPG Working Group with specialist advice from the AV Corporate Communications Department, and provided to Ambulance Tasmania as the basis for CPGs that suit Ambulance Tasmania's current practices.

Ambulance Tasmania may alter the Authority to Practice Skills and the Clinical Practice Guidelines at any time based on best evidence, patient safety and operational requirements.

Download a working copy of the current Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs) for ambulance paramedics (8Mb PDF). The approved version of the CPGs is available from the DHHS Intranet.

You can also download a copy of the CPGs as an App for iPhones, Android devices and Windows Mobile devices.
