Ambulance Tasmania

Ambulance Tasmania is committed to working with the community to ensure the highest possible level of service for all Tasmanians and visitors to the state.

The service actively participates in a number of initiatives to raise community awareness and provide public education about ambulance services and coping with emergencies.

These initiatives include:

  • the "Save 000 for Saving Lives" campaign, which stresses the importance of only calling for an emergency ambulance when you really need it.
  • tips on how you can "Help Us to Help You" - simple ways you can make it easier (and quicker) for an ambulance crew to find you in the event of an emergency.
  • an audio-visual presentation on "How 000 Works" incorporated in the service's popular Volunteer Recruitment Vehicle.
  • support for Tasmania's "Emergency Meeting Point" program which allows people to meet up with an ambulance, or other emergency services, at predefined remote locations around the state.
  • Ambulance Tasmania's "Early Access to Defibrillation Program" for owners of Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs).

You can learn more about these initiatives by selecting from the menu on the left, or look out for Ambulance Tasmania's high-profile Volunteer Recruitment Vehicle at your community show or one of many other major events around the state each year.

Ambulance Tasmania is also a participant inTasALERT, the Tasmanian Government's official emergency website that brings together information from emergency services and government agencies.
