Emergency Phone Numbers around the worldTeaching kids how 000 (triple zero) works and when to use it is a vital part of growing up in Australia.

With the number of reality shows on television these days, it is easy for kids especially to become confused by the numerous phone numbers they will be exposed to:

  • 9-1-1 (that's the United States and Canada)
  • 9-9-9 (that's the U.K. emergency number)
  • 1-1-2 (that's the European Union's official emergency number)
  • 1-1-1 (that's New Zealand).

Teach your kids that in Australia, to get help from Fire, Police or Ambulance, just call 000 (triple zero).

If you have kindergarten or primary school age kids, why not show them the "Triple Zero Challenge"  which will help them learn how to cope in an emergency and the appropriate use of triple zero (000). Just follow the link on the menu to the left.
